To all the students out there: check the Google Summer of Code program ideas this year related to Drools & jBPM: https://developer.jboss.org/wiki/JBossCommunityGoogleSummerOfCode2016Ideas
I’m looking forward to participate for the 4th year in a row as Mentor, so get in touch if you want to participate of this year program. Hopefully this year JBoss will get accepted again as an open source organisation. So we will be looking for students to implement this proposals.
There are 4 proposed ideas under Application Development:
And one under Management & Monitoring:
Let us know what you think about them, and we might work together on getting this done during Summer Time.
Stay tuned for more information on the up coming weeks.

Hi Tharuka,
You need to keep an eye on the GSoC program, you need to register there as student and then apply to one of the proposed projects.

Hi there,
You kinda need to start learning those projects if you want to apply to the GSoC, because if not you will not have enough time to get up to speed and deliver. In the GSoC program you need to submit a proposal on how you think to work on the program inside the project, and for that you kinda need to know what you want to do during the 3 months. I can of course give you guidance, but you need to be pro-active and learn those projects basics on your own so you know how to ask questions when you get stuck.
Cheers

I am Johannes Rembe and want to add to the GSoC for the “Integrate Drools with your favourite project” using the KIE Server Apache Thrift integration project. Do you have interest in this project, if not too late? Basic knowlledge is already available so getting up to speed fast should not be a problem because of the late entry. The project needs to implement more of the Drools API. I am studiing in Fontys Hogeschool in Venlo, the Netherlands.
Hope too hear from you soon.
